A second note in one appointment
The Note tab holds the note Rebrief builds as you talk. It starts blank and uses no template. Sometimes you also need a note in one of your own formats, such as an operative note. You can add it as a second note in the same appointment.
Adding a note on a template
There are three ways to add one.
- Select + Create, choose Note and pick a template. You can search, or pick from Favourites, Your clinic and Rebrief.
- Click a note under Suggested for this appointment, when Rebrief offers one.
- While Rebrief is transcribing, say "start an operative note" or "use the extraction template". Use the name of the template you want.
Rebrief never starts a note on its own.
What happens next
A new tab opens after the Note tab, named after the template. A band on the new note reads "Writing the note from the appointment so far…". Its tab shows a turning mark while Rebrief writes it, then a green check once it's saved.
Rebrief writes it from everything said so far. It also uses the facts already in the Note tab. If nothing has been said yet, Rebrief tells you. Select Regenerate on the new note once the visit has words.
How it differs from the Note tab
- Rebrief keeps writing the Note tab as you talk. The template note doesn't change by itself.
- Select Regenerate on its bar to rewrite it from the appointment so far. This works after End too.
- Its bar starts with a chip that names its template. The template can't be changed.
- The medicolegal check only reviews the Note tab.
A line under its bar says when it was written, such as "Written at 2:32 pm from the appointment so far".
Merging it back
If you started a template note by mistake, select Merge back into one note on that line. Rebrief asks you to confirm.
- Merge moves the words you typed in this note to the Note tab. Then it removes this note.
- Keep leaves both notes as they are.
Taking it out
Open the template note's tab, then Export. The first part of the menu carries the note's name. Copy text and PDF on letterhead act on that note.
Some clinics connect their practice software to Rebrief through the Windows app, the Rebrief app installed on a clinic computer. There, Export also has Every note. It sends each of the appointment's notes into your practice software in turn. Rebrief shows its progress on a card in a chat, with a Stop button.
Good to know
- You can add a template note after End too.
- Pressing End finishes every note in the appointment.
- Export waits for End before any note leaves the appointment.
