The Scribe page

3 min read

Scribe in the rail opens the Scribe page. It has two parts: a card for starting an appointment, and your clinic's appointments in one list below it.

Start an appointment

Select Start an appointment. Rebrief transcribes with this computer's mic and writes the note while you work.

A computer transcribes one appointment at a time. While this computer is transcribing, the same button reads Back to and the patient's name, with a running clock. The line beside it reads Transcribing now.

End that appointment before you start the next one.

Up next on today's schedule

Your practice software is the program your clinic uses for patients and schedules. If your clinic connects it to Rebrief, the card also shows Up next on today's schedule.

  • It lists the next two booked patients still to come today. Each line shows the time, the patient, what the visit is for and the chair.
  • Select Start beside a patient to begin their appointment. It starts linked to the patient's record when Rebrief is sure which record it is. If it isn't sure, the appointment opens with the patient's name box ready to fill in.
  • Full schedule opens the calendar on Home.
  • Once today's visits are done, the card shows the next day's first patients instead, under a heading such as Up next tomorrow. They have no Start button. You start them on their day.
  • With nothing left to show, the card reads No more appointments on today's schedule.

A plan without a practice-software connection shows the card without Up next.

Every appointment in one list

The list under the card is headed Appointments. The newest come first.

  • Search patients and notes… looks through patient names, appointment names and the whole note. Press / to jump to it.
  • All, In progress and Saved to PMS narrow the list. PMS is short for practice management software.
  • Pinned appointments come first, under Pinned. A pin shows for everyone in your clinic.
  • Then each day follows, as Today, Yesterday, then the date.
  • Show older appointments at the foot reaches further back.

Reading a line

Each line shows the time and the patient. With nobody linked, it shows what the visit was for, with No patient linked.

Small counters show what else the appointment holds, such as extra notes, documents, forms or open tasks.

The last column says where it stands, for example:

  • Transcribing or Stopped, for the appointment on this computer
  • Saved to PMS, once its note or chart went into your practice software
  • Unfinished, when nobody ended it
  • Scheduled, for an appointment Prep my day made ahead of the visit

Rest the pointer on a line to see the first lines of its note. Select the line to open the appointment. Back brings you to the same place in the list.

Pin, rename, link or delete

Point at a line to see its pin and its ⋯ menu:

  • Pin to top, or Unpin
  • Rename
  • Link a patient, when nobody is linked
  • Copy appointment ID
  • Delete

Delete asks first. It deletes the appointment with its note, transcript, chart and documents, and it can't be undone. An appointment that is still transcribing can't be deleted. Its menu reads End it to delete.
