The calendar on Home

3 min read

The calendar shows your practice's schedule on Home. It holds the bookings Rebrief brought in from your practice software, one column per chair or provider.

The calendar comes with every paid plan. Starter, the free plan, has no schedule to show.

Open the calendar

  1. Select Home in the left rail.
  2. In the side panel, select Calendar.
  3. To close it, select Calendar again.

The calendar fills the space beside the side panel. On a phone, tap the list button at the top of Home, then Calendar.

Move between days

The calendar opens on today. The day you're viewing sits in the bar at the top of the window. A dot before it means today.

  • Select ‹ or › to step back or forward one day.
  • Select the date to pick any day from a month.
  • Away from today, a card in the bottom right corner says Showing and the day. Select Back to today to return.

Looking at another day only shows what Rebrief already has for it. Stepping to a day never reads your practice software. A day with nothing in Rebrief says so.

Left open overnight, the calendar moves on to the new day by itself.

On a phone, the day reads as a list, with the date and its arrows at the top.

Check a patient before they arrive

Point at a booking to see its card. The card holds three things.

  • The patient, the time, the chair and what's booked.
  • Whether their chart was synced, for example Synced today or Not synced.
  • Before the appointment, a short summary Rebrief wrote from their chart.

The card ends with its buttons.

  • Start appointment starts the patient's appointment, linked to them.
  • Open chart opens the patient's page.
  • Resync patient reads this patient's chart again from your practice software. It appears only in the Windows app.

Clicking a booking also opens the patient's page.

Note: A booking Rebrief can't match to a patient says Not linked to a patient record yet. Click the appointment to link it and start. Click it, and the window that opens offers ways to link or add the patient.

Start an appointment from the calendar

Start appointment opens the appointment, and Rebrief starts transcribing. The appointment is already linked to the patient, so nothing needs matching later.

If Prep my day already set up an appointment for that visit, Rebrief starts that one. It never makes a second.

One appointment runs on each computer. If this computer is already transcribing one, Rebrief opens it instead.

Keep the schedule up to date

Prep my day is the routine that brings each day in. Before clinic, it reads the schedule from your practice software and sets up every appointment.

When today hasn't come in yet, the calendar says Today's schedule isn't here yet. Select Set up Prep my day to give it a time and a computer. Once it has a time, the button reads Open Prep my day.

The circular arrows at the right end of the calendar's header resync the day.

  • In the Windows app, with your practice software open, they read the day from it again. They show Syncing… while they work.
  • Anywhere else, they refresh what Rebrief already has.
  • A past day is never read again. A day still ahead can be.

The Windows app is how a clinic computer connects Rebrief to your practice software.

When the calendar is empty

  • No appointments today means Rebrief read today and found nothing booked.
  • Today's schedule isn't here yet means today hasn't come in. Set up Prep my day, or resync in the Windows app.
  • Connect your practice software means no schedule has come in yet.

To connect from the Windows app, open your practice software and select Check again. In a browser on a computer, Download the Bridge gets the Windows app. On a phone, the message says where to set it up.

Tip: The Scribe page shows your next visits under Up next on today's schedule, each with its own Start. Full schedule opens this calendar.
